Teyweb Payment Architecture

Teyweb provides a dual-rail payment architecture engineered to maximize checkout completion in African markets where card decline rates can occasionally be high.

Your storefront checkout can support both Automated Gateways (instant card debits, bank USSD, Apple Pay) and Manual Bank Transfers with receipt uploads.

Automated Card & USSD Gateways

Teyweb integrates with top-tier licensed payment processors (including Flutterwave and Paystack):

- Card Payments: Supports Mastercard, Visa, and Verve debit and credit cards with 3D Secure OTP verification.

- USSD & Bank Apps: Customers can pay directly using their bank's USSD shortcode (e.g. *737#, *894#, *966#).

- Instant Webhooks: As soon as the customer successfully enters their pin/OTP, the gateway dispatches a secure cryptographic webhook to Teyweb. The order status flips to "Processing" in real time, and both parties receive receipt confirmation.

Manual Bank Transfer & Receipt Verification

Many African shoppers prefer direct peer-to-peer bank transfers via their banking mobile apps. Teyweb supports this natively without requiring third-party plugins:

1

Customer Selects "Direct Bank Transfer"

At checkout, the customer selects the Direct Bank Transfer option.

2

Store Bank Details Displayed

Teyweb presents your verified Bank Name, Account Holder Name, and 10-digit NUBAN account number, along with the exact total to transfer.

3

Payment Receipt Upload

After making the transfer, the customer uploads a photo or screenshot of their transfer receipt slip directly on the order confirmation screen.

4

Merchant Verification in Dashboard

The order enters your dashboard with a "Pending Payment Verification" badge. You can view the attached slip, confirm the funds in your banking app, and click "Approve Payment" to move the order to "Processing".

Split Payments & Settlement Security

All card transactions are processed under secure PCI-DSS Level 1 compliance. Teyweb never stores sensitive card numbers, CVVs, or bank PINs on its servers.

Transactions use subaccount split payments: customer funds are routed to escrow settlements, and merchant revenues are disbursed directly to your verified commercial bank account according to your settlement schedule.

Configuring Active Payment Options

Navigate to Payments > Payment Settings in your merchant dashboard. Use the toggles to enable or disable individual payment channels (Card Checkout, Bank USSD, Direct Bank Transfer). You can test payments or switch to live mode once your store verification is approved.
