Open Account Termination

Pre-Termination Checklist

If you decide to close or pause your business, completing the following checklist ensures a smooth exit without leaving customers stranded:

Key Takeaways

  • Fulfill all outstanding pending orders or issue refunds to buyers.
  • Wait for all pending balances in your settlement account to clear and disburse.
  • Download a complete store archive via the Data Backup & Takeout Hub (`/settings/backup`).
  • Export your product catalog and order transaction history spreadsheets.
  • Inform active subscribers or shoppers if you have scheduled recurring deliveries.

Exporting Your Complete Store Archive

Before closing your store, open Settings > Data Backup (`/settings/backup`) to download your complete JSON takeout archive (`store_data_backup_{store}_{date}.json`).

This packages your entire store history—including customer records, order receipts, product variant matrices, and financial ledgers—ensuring you comply with tax accounting retention rules.

Pausing Your Store vs Permanent Termination

Teyweb offers two options depending on your timeline:

Permanent Account Closure Workflow

To close your store permanently:

1. Go to Settings > Terminate Account (`TerminateAccountPage.tsx`).

2. Review the list of active products and pending orders.

3. Type your registered store name to confirm intentional closure.

4. Select a primary reason for closing (e.g., "Switching to physical retail only", "Business closing down", "Feature request not available").

5. Click "Permanently Deactivate Store". You will be logged out, and a final confirmation email is dispatched to the store owner.

Data Retention & Privacy Policies

Under financial compliance and audit standards, financial transaction records are securely retained for statutory accounting periods. All personal customer identifiers and store media assets are deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
